Group Levels
We offer three distinct groups based on the student’s current chess knowledge: Novice, Beginner+, and Intermediate. These groups are not age-restricted but instead focus on the student’s level of understanding. For example, a 15-year-old and a 5-year-old can both be Novices, but their learning pace and comprehension will differ. To address this, each group is further divided by age, ensuring tailored instruction. This means a 15-year-old Novice will be in a different group from a 5-year-old Novice, maximizing the effectiveness of the learning process.
Separating students by both knowledge level and age accelerates the learning process. However, if a parent prefers their child to be placed in an older age group, we are happy to accommodate their decision.
- The Novice group is designed for absolute beginners who are just starting to explore chess.
- The Beginner+ group is for students who have developed some basic fundamentals but are not yet serious players.
- The Intermediate group caters to tournament players who have been actively involved in chess for several years.
